You all know what today is right? FRIDAY! TGIF! Hmm? How many of you actually remember watching TGIF on ABC every Friday night? I see there are a few you. It's funny because I remember watching it, and at the time really enjoying it. But now when I see the reruns on TV, I just keep flipping channels and hope I will find something else on, more then likely stopping on one of the many NCIS marathons that USA seems to show six days a week. So I hope you all had a good week, and I know your all excited for the weekend.... well except those of you that have to work it. But don't worry, I know what will cheer you up .... uh, no its not enough money to quit working. Its a brand new cartoon. Ok, I know money would have been better, but work with me here, I am doing the best I can with what I got. Let's go down to the next paragraph so I can do the dedication and explain today's cartoon.

So, today's dedication is to my old man, who actually inspired this cartoon by telling the joke about the bear and the rabbit. After hearing this funny joke, I would always imagine what it was like afterwards, what would the rabbit say? So I would spend the next few years mulling it over, drawing it out, then redrawing it, until this final product came out. Alot of people I know really liked this one, which told me I was on to something with it. I hope you all like this one as well.

Well that will do it for this week folks. Have fun this weekend, even if your working, still try to have a good time. I will see you all here on Monday for another cartoon. Until then, take care, be fair, and remember to share.

Greetings one and all and a happy Wednesday to you all. For some today is "hump day", for some it is just the middle of the week, but for me Wednesday was always comic day. Every Wednesday I would find myself at my local comic book store picking up the brand new issues of what ever I was reading at the time. It has been a few years since I have been in a comic store on a Wednesday, now having to drive out of town to get them, I only pick them up like once a month, and usually on the weekends. But with Not @ All, I can once again enjoy comic day, although I still make a habit of reading them on Wednesdays. Wow that was alot of words about stuff I would bet money you all really didn't care about... oh well it is written and done now. So today's toon is one that I put up Facebook awhile ago in pencil form. I went back and inked it and colored it, adding the caption to it for the joke. I really enjoyed this idea and was kind of proud of how it all turned out.

Todays dedication is to Gary Larson, the creator of one of my favorite comic strips The Far Side. I used to make sure to try and catch the paper to read The Far Side as often as possible. To this day I am still trying to collect the whole series of strips. His style of humor really made me laugh, and seemed to influence my style a little here and there. So kudos to you Mr. Larson, thanks for all the great jokes.

Alright folks, that does it for this Wednesdays edition of Not @ All. I hope to see you all here again on Friday. Until then, take care, be fair, and remember to share.

Happy Monday fans and fanettes! I know, I know, Monday is not the best day to be happy about, what with school, work, and those horrible prostate exams. But remember you do have something to look forward to now .... a brand new Not @ All toon. There ya go, see it feels better to laugh and smile and relax that sphincter and let the doc do his thing to your thing. Ok, so down to the nitty gritty of this little ditty.

Today's dedication goes out to Doug Savage, the funny and talented man who does the Savage Chickens comics. Why am I giving this man the dedication you ask? Well it is because he is the very first person who's wonder comic I discovered on the net. I loved his work from the very first joke that I saw, and he was one of the people that I kind of lumped together in the last dedication with the whole web comic thing. But after I did that one, I thought it would be nice to single out a few of the ones that caught my eye and really helped me get into this whole webcomic thing. Mr. Savage was the guy tickled my funny bone first. So if you ever end up reading thing Doug Savage, again thanks for doing something that made me laugh and made me want to continue on this journey of cartooning.

Alrighty then folks, that will do it for today. Hope you all had as much fun as I did, of course there was alot of alcohol on my end. If you get the chance go and visit  www.savagechickens.com for some funny cartoons as well. As always, remember to take care, be fair, and share.

It's Friday fans! And time again for another installment of, now say it with me people.... Not @ All! Well that was pretty good but I think three of you came in a little early. It's ok we can work on it later. So, by my count we have reached the end of our third week, which is just remarkable since I was the guy who once killed a fish two days in to having it. Of course the fish was not entirely my fault, as I was not the one who replaced the bottle of water with vodka, and to my credit I did give the fish CPR. Hmm not sure if that joke works or not... oh well I am too damned lazy to start retyping at this point. So anyways, today's joke is what happens when I have only a few hours of sleep and watch too much Law and Order, although I don't recall if L&O has ever used the ol' court room doll or not. But either way there it is.

Today's dedication is too all of those wonder web comic creators out there who inspired me to take the chance to do this. There are ALOT of web comic's out there, and those early guys paved the road for a rookie like me to try and get a few laughs and yucks here with this thing. So thank you guys for doing this and showing me it can be done.

And that concludes are Friday N@A. Hope you all enjoyed this and are as excited as I am to return on Monday. Have a wonderful weekend folks and remember to spread the humor and my good name.

Take care, be fair, and share.

Holy moly fans and fannettes! You all know what day it is? Uh... no it's Wednesday, but a good guess anyways. That is what happens when your main fan base is stoners and mental patients. Now I don't know about you, but today feels like a wonderful day for a cartoon. I know I am ready to toss one up here on this blog, but the question is are you ready to see one? Well I am going to hope you all said yes, because if not I am going to feel mighty silly putting one up then. Today's toon is not so much a joke as it is just a funny looking drawing with a kid and a his pet cat. I will explain in more detail why I chose this particular toon in my dedication. But first some news and thoughts for you. So I have been messing around with a story in which one such as yourself could by nifty DVid merchandise of some kind. When I have all the bugs worked out I will put it up and then you can see what you think of it. Also there will be some more new experimental things coming your way in the near future, some of them may be in art form and some may not. I will keep you all posted when the time gets closer to both of these wonderful things, well maybe not you two in the back who have been making fart noises and snickering during this whole thing.

And now for the dedication of the day. Today's toon is dedicated to the memory of the man who helped inspire me to want to do cartoons... Chuck Jones! This whole toon was the result of me reading and admiring one of the man's wonderful books about his life in animation. You may notice the cat there, yes that one, bares a striking resemblance to the one and only Sylvester (the cat not the actor). On a side note, the cat also bares a some what resemblance to my once best and only pet Tabby, yes I know it is a lazy name but I loved it anyways. So I guess you could say this might be a double dedication, to Mr. Jones, and Mr. Tabby. Both are no longer with us, both had great impacts on my simple life, and both are sadly missed to this day.

And on that note, I will leave you to wonder why you are compelled to comeback and enjoy my odd sense of humor and even odder sense of art. See you all bright and early on Friday for the end of the week toon. Take care, be fair, and remember to share.

Aloha friends and fans! It is Monday again, and I am glad it is upon as, it only for the fact that I get to post a new toon for you all to enjoy. My shark week of toons is done and we can now return to the regular schedule of random weirdness that I have in store for you all.

Today's dedication goes out to a newer friend of mine, Crystal. Thanks for liking all of those things I have put up on Facebook, even the ones that I did not think were that good. It is thanks to you and a handful of others that I will be thanking in the near future here, that I have built up the courage to express my inner thoughts in toon form here. So to any people that hate my stuff, remember, it is Crystal and the others fault that I am doing this :-)

Well I see it is getting late as I write this, and I need my twenty minutes of beauty rest to try and dream up new and silly things to show off to the world. So with that I will bid you all a happy Monday and hope you will all rejoin me on Wednesday for you mid week entertainment.

Hola peeps and peepettes! Today this Friday, and the end of the week, and last night was the end of shark week 2012. I will soon be sitting down to watch the final new programs with a big bowl of snacks. But first I have to post the last shark joke of the week, and here it is.

Today's dedication is to the guy, or girl, who came up with the idea for shark week. I don't know who it was, but this unnamed hero of television programming is someone who had given me many hours of enjoyment and a growing respect for natures perfect predators of sea. Kudos to you sir and or madam.

Well that concludes our shark week special of toons. Have a safe and fun weekend folks, and I'll will expect to see you all here, and hopefully even more of you, on Monday for a brand new toon.

Wednesday, August 15, 2012

Hi ya folks! Well here we are, it's Tuesday once again, and that means it's time for another Not @ All toon. I sure hope you all are ready, because I sure know I was not. Today's toon caught me off guard, as I worked so hard to try and come up with a shark joke, and am now working to the last minute to finish it up. I just put the finishing touches on the toon and have started my little dialog here. I cut this one close folks, and NOT because I was lazy or nothing, just found out how hard it can be to try and create a funny cartoon.

Today's dedication is going to go out to Peter Benchley. That's right, the writer. See he was the one who first got me to fall in love with sharks, and it was not the book. But without the book, there would not have been a Jaws movie. Now I know alot of people who always tell me that the books are always better then the movie. So when I read the book I was surprised that I did not love it as much as the film, mainly because the lovable characters that I enjoyed on the silver screen were not the same in the book. However, I still did enjoy the book, just not as much as I loved the movie. Anywho... so without that book, which inspired that movie, I would not be drawing a cartoon about sharks on my favorite week of the year. So kudos to you Mr. Benchley.

Alright folks, that does it for today, I will see you all here bright and early on Friday. Well maybe not bright and early, I do need my beauty rest, and alot of it as most of my friends seem to tell me.

Welcome back folks, and a happy Monday to you all. Once again I find myself excited by the fact that this is my second week doing this.

Today's toon is in celebration of the best week of the year.... Shark Week! So be prepared for two more shark toons this week as I pay tribute to my favorite week with my favorite ocean animals. This one here was an idea I had for a long long time, but it used to be a coffee shark, just thought a toilet shark would be a littler funnier.

And todays dedication goes out to my buddy Laurie. Thanks for making me laugh at work and helping me to hold on to what little sanity I still have. Also thanks for taking me to so many movies and lunches, keeping me entertained and well fed. Perhaps one day I may end up paying for a few, but uh, don't get your hopes up.

Ok people, that's it for today, I will see you all back here on Wednesday.

It's Friday people! You all know what that means? Time for a brand new Not @ All cartoon! It also means that we come to an end of my first week doing a webcomic. It's ok to be excited, I know that I am. It is hard to believe the week is already over, I might get a bit choked up as I relive all of these great moments we have had.... ok I'm done. So lets get one with it all shall we?

Today's Not @ All toon is the last of the old guard, and my favorite I think. I did this one when I was trying to learn perspective. And I think this is the last one that I have penciled and inked with out the aid of my digital pad. I may have to go back to doing some more like this again some time as I had a good time doing it. Of course I digitally added the color and cleaned it up a bit.

Today's dedication goes out to my friend Amanda, who helped in a major way. Without her I would not be able to draw alot of the stuff I am doing now as she got me my Wacom Bamboo art tablet. So thanks for helping out and making it possible for me to share my talent with others.

Alright people, this concludes the first week of Not @ All and DVid's world. Have a great weekend and check back with me on Monday for more Not @ All.

Happy Wednesday folks! I write this with a massive grin on my face as I realize this is my second post. Two down and many more to go I hope. Under my wonderful logo you may have noticed a donation button, this is there for those of you who want to donate me money. Now I am not begging for money, and to be realistic, I know it's a little early to expect anything. I just have it up there in the hopes that you guys will one day enjoy my work sooo much, you will want to help out. But for now, just enjoy the free cartoon's I intend on giving you. Also there is a link on the side over there where I am pointing, that will lead you to my DeviantArt page. There are some pretty cool drawings there that I post from time to time if you want to see what else I draw.

Today's toon is another old one, at least two of three years old. I went in and cleaned it up, adding color and trying something with the lettering. I actually drew this as a Christmas card for a guy I used to work with, and he may still have the original. Later on I realized how much this joke made me laugh, so I decided to recreate it.

Today's dedication goes out to my best friend Gary, who helped me develop a sense of humor and taught me to laugh at myself and life. Thanks for putting up with me, and teaching me to put up with you.

Well that's it for today. See you all on Friday.

I would like to start this blog off right by welcoming you all here and saying thanks for stopping by. Here on DVid's World I am going to be posting a webcomic I came up with called Not @ All, this little strip is a way for me to get my work out there and seen by the wide wonderful world, as well as learn how to get better at the whole art process and keep deadlines. I will be posting new material every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Each toon will come with a special dedication to someone who had either helped me along the way or inspired me to reach for my dreams.

This first toon is one I did awhile back, I cleaned it up a bit and slapped a Not @ All logo on there. Now I am not going to make excuse for my art, I have loved everything I have done, but I do recognize that my early work is not up to my current skill set. But I still like those early ones, that is why I am showing them to you.

I had to think long and hard about who would get the first dedication. In the end there was only one way to go with this, and it is a pretty obvious one at that. So this one here is dedicated to my entire family, the ones I live with, the ones I hardly ever see, and the ones that are no longer with us. Thanks for the support and not calling me a bum, at least not to my face.

Also I want to give credit where credit is do. The lettering for the DVid's World banner up there was provided through a nice little sight called dafont.com. The font is called "Batman beat the hell out of me" and was created by grilledcheese. Go check the site for lots of cool fonts and check out grilled's work.

Now as Porky Pig says, that's all folks!. See ya on Wednesday.
